Advanced Environmental Research in the North

A research school and a scientific network for the integration of monitoring, science and management

AMINOR is located at UiT the Arctic University of Norway, in Tromsø, Northern Norway. It is a multidisciplinary research network consisting of national and international students, junior and senior researchers. AMINOR research network focuses on the integration of monitoring, science and management, with a particular emphasis on northern areas and environmental changes.

Aims

The main goals of the AMINOR research network and research school are to train MSc and PhD students and to create a forum for developing competences for researchers within the FRAM Centre (High North Research Centre for Climate and the Environment Center) – whose mission is to contribute to the management and monitoring of environment and natural resources in the North. The AMINOR research school is hosted by the Faculty of Biosciences, Fisheries and Economics, but it is an inter-faculty school with the involvement of professors and students from many relevant environmental science disciplines at UiT the Arctic University of Norway. The network is also international, including professors, researchers, and students from abroad.
